Catalina Herrera

Data Scientist Catalina Herrera is an experienced problem solver in multiple industries, including Energy, Semiconductors, and Finance. As a Solutions Consultant for TIBCO Software Inc (Houston), she provides a wide range of analytics expertise to corporations, including ConocoPhillips for its Spotfire dashboards — tracking downhole failures and defect elimination and other evaluations and databases — and Banco de Brasil for its Spotfire reports on Portfolio Management and ATM troubleshooting, as well as providing Spotfire end-user training for the Spotfire LEAP team at Chevron,ConocoPhillips,Ecopetrol, New York Life, and other corporations.

She has also served as Product Engineer-Yield Team for Texas Instruments, leading yield enhancement activities on processors and ASIC devices; optimizing SQL, Spotfire and other software tools for maximally efficient and effective problem solving; and leading strategic activities for cost reduction and performance improvement of TTR, AVS, outlier screening, etc. as well as interfacing with customers to resolve yield issues. In addition, with Alternative Energy Institute (GA), while at West Texas A&M University, Catalina verified data acquisition for wind towers’ sensors and conducted statistical analyses to benefit wind farm developers in Texas.

Starting her career as an Electrical Engineering Professor at an engineering university in Colombia, Catalina Herrera holds a Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, in Engineer Technology from West Texas A&M University, and in Electronic Engineer and Computer Science from Los Andes University, Colombia. As a Yield Engineer, she is skilled in Tibco Spotfire (Author certified), Matlab, JMP, and R.
